A short trip to Hamburg

It does not matter where in Denmark you live, then Northern Germany is close and is really obvious for an extended weekend trip. And Hamburg is just south of the border. Hamburg is one of Germany most hip cities, where music events, exhibitions and festivals along the water naturally belong. The city also has plenty of good shopping opportunities.

We have put together 5 recommendations for places where you can go to have a delicious meal or something to quench your thirst with before the next activity is to be reached. All in Hamburg's coolest and liveliest neighborhood: St Pauli.

St. Pauli: Breakfast at Café du Port

Remember to reserve a table, because without a table reservation it is difficult to find seats at the popular brunch places on the weekends. If it's too late, you may be lucky enough to get a table at Café du Port, Hein-Hoyer-Straße 56 in St Pauli. It is a sweet and trendy French-inspired café, where you get the food served in the finest way.

And yes, we recommend all the cakes, but remember cash. Incidentally, this cafe is a lot vegan-friendly. Bon appetit!

Home-roasted beans on Hermetic Coffee Roasters

There is no shortage of coffee places in St Pauli, but which one to choose?

We recommend Hermetic Coffee Roasters, Sternstraße 68. A really cozy coffee place where they themselves roast their coffee beans and offer everything from an espresso or cold brew for tasty cakes and other sweet treats.

Experiences in Hamburg: Homemade ice cream at Joschi's

If the cakes are not enough, there must of course be something more for the sweet tooth. Joschi has a selection of homemade ice cream where you can find different flavors such as plum and cinnamon. Of course, there are also the more classic ones, so everyone can join. Joschi can be found at Neuer Kamp 19, Hamburg.

Dinner at Asian Ume no Hana - an absolute St. Pauli-favorite

If you do not have a great need for German food, we recommend the Japanese / Vietnamese restaurant Ume no Hana on Thadenstraße 15 in St Pauli. This fusion restaurant has a great mix of different Asian dishes, so there is something for both ramen lovers and Pho fans.

Are you into vegan dishes, then this is a recommendable place. Try their homemade lemonade and enjoy Asian cuisine. Here, however, you must also remember the cash.

End the day with drinks by the water

End the day with a delicious cocktail or an ice-cold beer in one of the sun loungers on Strand Pauli, Hafenstraße 89, while enjoying the extra holiday atmosphere while the boats sail past on the river.

Hamburg is cozy all year round, and St Pauli also has a rather overlooked Christmas market that makes you feel at home quickly.

Good Trip!
